Wrexham are set to face Premier League side Chelsea in their latest fixture in the Wrex Coast tour.

Pre-season is well underway with Wrexham set to face Chelsea on Thursday at what will be 3am UK time.

The Red Dragons kicked off their Wrex Coast tour in Santa Barbara against Bournemouth.

Phil Parkinson‘s side impressively secured a 1-1 draw against the Premier League side and will be relishing the opportunity to face the former European champions Chelsea.

The Red Dragons will face off with Enzo Maresca’s side in Santa Cara in the Levi’s stadium.

Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will be keen viewers with it set to be a big spectacle.

It will no doubt be a tough game for Wrexham, but it is an exciting opportunity for the players to impress the manager ahead of the 2024/25 League One campaign.

The North Wales club impressed against Bournemouth, but it will be an interesting watch to see how Wrexham fare against tougher opposition.

Wrexham team news and predicted XI vs Chelsea

Wrexham will be without Jacob Mendy and Paul Mullin as the pair recover from their injuries. The fans will be hoping Elliot Lee is able to feature against Chelsea after being unavailable because of a slight issue he picked up in the 5-1 win against Hanley Town.

Anthony Forde was able to gain valuable minutes in the Bournemouth fixture as he looks to regain match sharpness for the coming season.

The former Sunderland boss has named XI’s with mixed experience in pre-season and has been keen to rotate his team to give all members of his squad a chance to regain fitness.

How will Wrexham line up against Chelsea

After an impressive performance against Bournemouth, Parkinson may want to keep a relatively similar XI.

He may want to give his latest signings Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt, George Dobson, Callum Burton, and Sebastian Revan more minutes as they look to settle into the team.

The 56-year-old coach has given younger players a chance to impress in the recent pre-season fixtures, with that likely to continue in the coming games.

With Lee’s injury, not a major concern, the creative midfielder could make a return to the starting XI but is likely to gain minutes off the bench if involved in the squad.
