Wrexham vs Swindon team news

The Red Dragons will be looking to build on their impressive mid-week victory with another win this weekend. Will Boyle, Ollie Palmer, Jake Bickerstaff and Elliot Lee were all on the scoresheet on Tuesday night, and should be raring to go against Swindon.

Wrexham will continue to be without striker Paul Mullin, who is still side-lined after sustaining a punctured lung in pre-season. Furthermore, manager Phil Parkinson has confirmed that James McClean and Jordan Davies are also ruled out with respective knee and muscle problems.

The back six is set to remain unchanged with Ollie Palmer likely to start in attack with either Jake Bickerstaff or Billy Waters.

Swindon, meanwhile, are coming off the back of their own mid-week victory against Forest Green Rovers, which they clinched without usual starters such as Saidou Khan and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy. However, Town could be in a position to welcome back  Jacob Wakeling, Khan, Hepburn-Murphy, and Tyrese Shade ahead of Saturday’s away game against Wrexham.

Our Wrexham vs Swindon match prediction

Saturday’s fixture between Wrexham and Swindon will be the first time the sides have faced each other in more than 14 years. The two sides last met in the FA Cup second round, in November 2009, which Swindon won 1-0 thanks to a Gordon Greer goal in the 80th minute.

Swindon are one place above Wrexham in the league, with both teams on four points, although Wrexham have played a game more.

However, Wrexham are among the favourites to go up this season and Tuesday’s win will surely bring some positive momentum.

Our prediction: 2-0 win for Wrexham.
