Wrexham vs Walsall team news

Wrexham will continue to be without star striker Paul Mullin, who is side-lined with a punctured lung which he sustained in a pre-season game against Manchester United last month.

In the 1-1 draw against Wimbledon AFC on Saturday, manager Phil Parkinson opted for a box-shaped midfield, with Tom O’Connor and Andy Cannon sitting in front of the defence, with Elliot Lee and debutant James McClean supporting lone striker Ollie Palmer.

We’re expecting a similar line-up against Walsall.

Walsall, meanwhile, are also expected to be unchanged from their win over Stockport on Saturday. Head coach Mat Sadler is unlikely to tinker with a winning team too much, but might consider starting Aramide Oteh who came off the bench to bag at the weekend.

Expected line-ups for both teams

Wrexham potential starting line-up: Foster; O’Connell, Tozer, Boyle; Barnett, Cannon, O’Connor, Mendy; McClean, Palmer, Lee

Walsall potential starting line-up: Evans; Williams, Daniels, Hussey; Foulkes, McEntee, Hutchinson, Stirk, Gordon; Johnson, Oteh

Our Wrexham vs Walsall match prediction

Walsall are unbeaten against Wrexham since February 2001, although the two sides have not faced one another since 2007.

However, Wrexham simply need to start winning games if they’re to to start climbing the league table, and Tuesday night’s game is the perfect opportunity to do so.

The trip to Wales will also represent Walsall’s third away match in 10 days, which we think could be a game too many for The Saddlers.

Our prediction: 2-1 win for Wrexham.
