Wrexham pulled off a huge coup over the summer by securing the signature of goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo on a permanent basis.
Back-to-back promotions landed Wrexham in League One, which would have been a pipe dream for fans just a few years ago.
Wrexham needed to bolster Phil Parkinson’s squad after promotion from League Two but arguably the biggest signing was a returning face.
Arthur Okonkwo excelled at Wrexham on loan last season, shining after arriving from Arsenal as a replacement for Ben Foster.
Okonwko’s Arsenał deal expired at the end of last season and Wrexham managed to fend off major competition for his signature.
Parkinson has praised Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds for signing Okonkwo permanently with the stopper shining in League One this season.

Okonkwo has already kept five clean sheets in 10 League One games this season and went nearly 400 minutes without conceding at one stage.
The Wrexham stopper is playing so well that Nigeria have allegedly held talks with Okonkwo over switching allegiance on the international stage.
Perhaps a call-up will arrive this season but Okonkwo’s primary focus is Wrexham – and he has paid tribute to the club’s fanbase.
Speaking on Men in Blazers, Okonkwo noted that the atmosphere at the STōK Cae Ras is simply ‘incredible’.
Okonwko feels that Wrexham simply have one of the best atmospheres in League One and the Wrexham support gives him goosebumps at times.
Okonkwo added that Wrexham fans are exceptional on the road too and hopes that level of support continues throughout the season.
“The atmosphere at our home is incredible,” said Okonkwo.
“It’s one of the best in the league, there is no doubt. You feel goosebumps sometimes when you hear the fans screaming and singing, especially away as well. Even when we’re losing, they’re still signing.
“It’s so amazing to have that and I just hope it can be like that until the end of the season,” he added.
Wrexham have a real fortress
Few teams will want be looking forward to a trip to the STōK Cae Ras this season.
Wrexham were outstanding at home last season and lost just three home league games on the way to promotion.
That form has continued into this term too with Wrexham winning every single game at home so far.
Wrexham have racked up 15 goals and conceded just four goals at the the STōK Cae Ras.
The support from Wrexham fans is certainly a huge factor and Okonkwo is looking for supporters to inspire more impressive results over the course of the campaign.
