Ben Foster enjoyed his short spell at Wrexham, as he helped them win promotion from the National League to League Two.
The former England international did not spend long at the Racecourse Ground, as he felt it was time to call time on his career shortly into the club’s campaign in the fourth tier of English football.
However, he became a favourite of not only the fans but also owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac too, particularly after his penalty save against Notts County as the clubs battled it out for the National League title.
This moment has gone down in Red Dragons history, with it being an important step in their journey with their three consecutive promotions across the English football pyramid, helping them to the Championship.
It is something he won’t forget, with the retired goalkeeper believing Wrexham taught him an important lesson following their promotion that season.

Ben Foster believes it is important for players to celebrate with the fans
The former shot-stopper was on talkSPORT during the week to discuss the ongoing footballing landscape before being asked about his career and looking for his opinion on certain topics.
He was key in their promotion win, but he stressed the importance of celebrating moments like those with the fans due to how much it means to the people that spend their money to watch the club.
Foster said: “Those little moments, though, they’re so important. I do think any players of any teams, if you get your team promoted, go and share it with the fans. You don’t understand, like I’ve never understood at all through football, how much it actually means to the fans.
“They live for this stuff; they spend their whole week working for that Saturday afternoon.
“It’s their life, it’s their tribe, it’s the religion, so when you do something good and it’s all about moments, you know it’s all about moments. Go and share it with them as well, because they remember that for the rest of their lives.”
Ben Foster has huge admiration for Wrexham
The former Manchester United keeper appeared to love his time at the Racecourse Ground, as he and Ben Tozer are now involved with ‘That Wrexham Podcast’, where they explore different areas of the club and attempt to bring them to light.

His love for the club has also seen him speak about their chances of achieving promotion from the Championship, as Foster believes Wrexham will be in the Premier League in three years.
While Humphrey Ker believed it was unusual that Foster joined Wrexham when he did, it has seemingly worked out perfectly both on and off the pitch for the pair, as their relationship has continued to flourish despite the former Birmingham City keeper retiring several seasons ago.
