Wrexham have made some blockbuster signings in the transfer window so far this summer.
After breaking the club’s transfer record on Liberato Cacace and then Lewis O’Brien, a third record deal has been smashed.
Wrexham have agreed a £10m fee for Nathan Broadhead and the forward becomes the club’s ninth signing of the window.
Wrexham have not seen major signings like this since being back in the National League. Paul Mullin caused a stir signing on a free transfer and Humphrey Ker couldn’t contain his excitement over Ben Foster.

Humphrey Ker couldn’t believe Ben Foster signed for Wrexham
Speaking on season two episode nine of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series, Ker spoke about his disbelief and awe when the club signed Foster.
With an injury to Rob Lainton back in 2022, Foster was signed on a deal to help provide competition for Mark Howard and ensure Wrexham gained promotion back to the football league.
Ker stated: “Ben Foster is an unusual character to see turning out for a National League football club. He has got 500 league career appearances, 400 of them in the Premier League,
“He played for England, he has played for Manchester United, he has played for Watford and has played almost his entire career at the absolute top of the game.”
Foster was full of praise for Ryan Reynolds in a recent interview with the club and made a real impact himself upon signing.
He will always be remembered for his penalty save in the crucial clash with Notts County, but he also brought a real leadership to the dressing room for Phil Parkinson.
Ben Foster would have been proud watching Wrexham take on West Brom
Having featured for both clubs during his career, the Championship clash between Wrexham and West Brom at the Racecourse Ground would have been a proud moment for Foster.
Despite only playing 35 games for the Red Dragons, he is generally associated with the club now and still does some ambassadorial work such as joining the pre-season tour down under.
| Ben Foster career stats | Appearances | Goals conceded | Clean sheets |
| Wrexham | 35 | 54 | 9 |
| West Brom | 223 | 310 | 57 |
However, West Brom were the club which he made the most appearances for, amassing an impressive 223 games for The Baggies.
Where Foster’s allegiances lied for the second tier clash remains a secret, but he would have loved seeing his two former sides play out such an excellent contest.
