Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner’s rant about Wrexham fans has now been made public.
The 2024/25 season ended with Wrexham winning promotion from League One with a 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic.
The Red Dragons secured second place, with Birmingham City winning the league with 111 points.
Amid their success in the third tier and Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds’ relationship with Tom Brady, a rivalry of sorts was formed.
Now, Blues owner Tom Wagner’s rant about Wrexham fans has been made public this week.

Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner hits out at Wrexham fans
After the huge success of Welcome to Wrexham, Birmingham have followed suit with their own documentary.
The five-part series, which is airing on Amazon Prime, was released on August 1 and has shown a clip of owner and chairman Wagner hitting out at the Wrexham fanbase.
Speaking on Built in Birmingham: Brady & The Blues, he said: “It makes me chuckle when Wrexham fans scoff at what we’ve spent and how we’ve gone about it, let’s be clear, Wrexham have achieved their success because they’ve driven commercial revenue.
“Birmingham have always been a much bigger club, our target is not Wrexham. If they have continued success then maybe one day it will be, but currently it’s not.
“Our target is to play Premier League football against Villa. Period. Full stop.”
A sentiment that Blues boss Chris Davies clearly shares, footage showed a behind-the-scenes conversation with players ahead of their visit to the Racecourse in January.
He said: “We know we are better than them, so let’s go and f—— prove it.”
The Blues may have ran away with the League One title but they failed to prove that on the night as “the stars of Hollywood met the suits of New York”. Blues fell behind inside the first ten minutes and eventually played out a 1-1 draw thanks to a Lyndon Dykes equaliser.

Wrexham and Birmingham City spending compared
Across the 2024/25 season, Wrexham spent around £4.3m on new players, according to Transfermarkt.
Their spending in the current transfer window has increased, with £7.1m paid out for six players.
As for the Blues, in 2024/25 alone, they coughed up £30.75m over two windows, including smashing the League One transfer record for Jay Stansfield.
This summer, meanwhile, they are outspending Wrexham once again with a total of £9.32m.
Wrexham could surpass Birmingham’s spending if and when they get a deal for Nathan Broadhead over the line.
