Ollie Palmer could secure a transfer away from Wrexham this summer, with a team he thinks are ‘fantastic’ showing interest.

Ollie Palmer has been facing an uncertain future at the Racecourse Ground for much of 2025.

The striker remains under contract until 2026, but he has not played a league fixture since January 28 – a 3-2 loss to Stevenage.

Phil Parkinson told Palmer to leave on loan in the winter transfer window, and the Dragons are once again trying to move him on this summer.

The Wrexham Insider has already revealed that Palmer has been offered to multiple teams, and MK Dons have looked at the player.

Ollie Palmer could leave Wrexham for former club

The forward’s wages could make a potential transfer to a lower-league side difficult, but we understand Wrexham are willing to help out on that front.

As well as MK Dons, TWI has learned via our transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey that AFC Wimbledon have also explored the possibility of bringing Palmer back to their club.

The 33-year-old joined Wrexham from Wimbledon in 2022 after a two-year stint with the EFL outfit.

He scored 13 goals and assisted six in 52 matches across all competitions during that time.

Palmer has previously suggested he could have retired with Wimbledon and labelled them ‘fantastic’.

He said in 2022: “I’ll be completely honest, I wasn’t really worrying about any other football clubs at the time, I was just getting on with my own football.

“Again, I was really happy at Wimbledon, it’s a fantastic football club and I’ll be totally honest, I thought I was going to end my football career there and that’s probably the level of excitement you’re going to have from me coming here after speaking to the gaffer.”

Ollie Palmer Wrexham wage

As we previously shared, Wrexham will likely need to help any potential suitor when it comes to Palmer’s wage.

Currently, after signing a contract extension in 2024, Palmer is earning £6,000-a-week or £312,000-a-year.

That means if Wrexham offer the same deal they gave Wigan for Mullin, they will still be paying £156,000 to the centre-forward in 2025/26 if he leaves.
