Wrexham are looking to continue their momentum in the EFL Trophy by following up their 4-1 win over Port Vale with victory over Bolton Wanderers.
Phil Parkinson could hand a recall to Ollie Palmer for the quarter final tie as the Wrexham manager looks to find the right balance to his side amid a League One promotion chase as well as a chance at Wembley glory.
Aaron Collins is a doubt for Bolton against Wrexham and the striker is currently the top scorer in the EFL Trophy in what would be a huge psychological boost for Parkinson and his team.
Bolton manager Steven Schumacher has been complimentary of his managerial counterpart before the game but has delivered a subtle ‘dig’ at the Red Dragons

Steven Schumacher reveals what he ‘doesn’t like’ about Wrexham
Speaking to The Bolton News, Schumacher has been discussing his quarter final opponents Wrexham and his opinion on their recent rise to fame.
Schumacher stated: “I’m not sure I’d like the cameras 24-seven here, I’m a bit more private than that but it is a great story what has happened to them, knowing the hard times that they had over the years.”
The newly-appointed Bolton boss took over from Ian Evatt in January and remembers playing at the Racecourse Ground as a player himself.
Schumacher explained: “I remember playing against Wrexham myself in League One I think and the journey that they’ve been on has been interesting, dropping out of the league for so long, then getting the investment and generating the excitement to be where they are now. It’s a really good story.”
Schumacher reveals admiration for ‘top drawer’ Phil Parkinson
Ahead of the clash, Schumacher has also been revealing his admiration for former Bolton manager and now Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson.
Schumacher stated: “Phil is top drawer he really is. He is somebody who I get on really well with, he’s got time for the young coaches and has got loads of experience.”

Parkinson left Bolton in 2019 under difficult circumstances having spent three seasons at the club and will now be hoping to get one over his old side by beating them to the last semi final spot in the EFL Trophy.
Wrexham will face Peterborough United if they overcome Bolton but know that victory will be tough against a side they drew 0-0 with back in August.
