Wrexham were frustrated in their attempts to move further clear of Wycombe in the promotion race as they were held to a draw at Cambridge.
Phil Parkinson was furious with the referee after a controversial penalty decision was awarded against Lewis Brunt and the Red Dragons saw a late Eoghan O’Connell goal disallowed.
Wrexham’s 2-2 draw with Cambridge still leaves them in second place in League One but they will now rue the missed opportunity to move further clear of Wycombe after they drew 0-0 with Shrewsbury.
George Dobson was superb in midfield and needed to be as Cambridge caused Parkinson’s side problems all evening and their manager Neil Harris has delivered his verdict on the entertaining draw.

Neil Harris believes Wrexham are a ‘top top’ side
Speaking to Cambridgeshire Sport via BBC Sounds, Cambridge manager Harris was pleased with his side’s performance against Wrexham and heaped praise on the ability of the Red Dragons.
Harris stated: “Wrexham are a top top side and just because they don’t make 600 passes every game doesn’t mean they aren’t extremely effective at what they do and they got b***dy good players, that’s why they win so many games.
“They’re really good at what they do and we saw that in moments today, the questions they ask you, so many difficult situations they put you in with quality into the box.”
Harris was recently appointed having taken over from Garry Monk and is facing a battle to keep his new side in the division. With performances such as that against Wrexham, his impact is clear to see.
Wrexham still ahead in promotion race
Having trailed 2-1 through a Josh Stokes penalty just after half time, Parkinson may see the result as an important point come the end of the campaign.
Wrexham still have the more favourable fixtures over Wycombe but Parkinson will be aware of the threat that Charlton and Stockport also pose in the run in.

The Red Dragons played just two teams in the top ten in their remaining games whereas Wycombe are set to face six in a tough end to their campaign.
Parkinson will know his side can only focus on their results and performances and the next objective is securing three points at home to Burton.
