Christian Eriksen’s agent has now commented on his player potentially joining Wrexham this summer.

Wrexham’s transfer interest in Christian Eriksen first emerged at the beginning of June.

The player was under contract with Manchester United at the time, but he’s since become a free agent after departing Old Trafford.

Eriksen previously commented on transfer interest and was very much undecided on his future.

The Danish midfielder signing for Wrexham just a few years ago would have been pretty ludicrous, but their current owners and recent promotion mean higher-profile names are being targeted, and the player’s agent has now commented on Phil Parkinson’s club.

Christian Eriksen agent on Wrexham transfer

Wrexham’s interest in the former Manchester United midfielder appeared to have died down somewhat.

The club have since gone on to sign two new midfielders this summer, the latest being Lewis O’Brien.

But now, as per the Daily Mail, Eriksen’s agent has confirmed there has been contact over a move.

However, he crucially adds that the player is still keen to play top-flight football.

Martin Schoots said: “Wrexham are really upgrading everything both on and off the field, and it is a hugely impressive project, as you can see from the presence of people like Michael Williamson there.

“But Christian still wants to play in a first-tier competition and he absolutely wants to stay in Western Europe. There are some contacts going on but it has to suit both sides.”

Can Wrexham afford to sign Christian Eriksen

Wrexham have increased their spending a great deal since winning promotion to the Championship.

They have broken their transfer record twice, most recently for the aforementioned O’Brien.

It has been said that Wrexham will spend £10m on a striker before the summer window closes.

But with two new midfielders already through the door, it’s not known if they are willing to spend what would likely be big money on Eriksen’s wages.
