Wrexham have finally started to show their hand in the transfer market with the £4m signing of Liberato Cacace, but an even bigger move could be coming.
A slow start to the summer transfer window has left some Wrexham fans concerned ahead of the new season, with the Red Dragons clearly still short on quality.
The Championship will be a stern test regardless for Phil Parkinson and his squad. However, the record-breaking deal for Liberato Cacace has raised hopes.
Now, it seems Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are going to push the boat out to ensure Parkinson has the tools required to keep Wrexham in the second tier.

Wrexham’s new striker could smash transfer record
According to a report from Alan Nixon on Patreon, Wrexham are willing to spend up to £10m on a new striker this summer.
Apparently, Parkinson has been told he can spend the eight-figure sum to improve the attacking areas of the Wrexham squad; a fee that would absolutely smash Wrexham’s current transfer record.
The only issue is the Red Dragons have not found the right target just yet, while other targets have passed them by.
Nixon cites former Sheffield Wednesday pair, Josh Windass and Michael Smith, as two potential options for Wrexham. However, they wouldn’t cost a penny, so if Parkinson is to splash out that £10m, it would be on a more substantial target.

Wrexham’s latest targets for striker role
Windass is a name that Wrexham have admired for a while and they now have a great chance of signing him. However, Windass is also wanted by a number of Championship clubs including Norwich City, Leicester City, and Derby County.
Patrick Bamford is another player the Red Dragons have looked at extensively, and it’s thought he has been told he can leave Leeds United this summer.
To date, there have been no players linked with Wrexham who could come close to that £10m price tag. Indeed, spending that kind of money would have the Red Dragons shopping in an entirely different market to what we’ve seen so far.
That could be very exciting news for Wrexham fans, and spell danger for their Championship rivals.
