Conor Coady wants Wrexham to be ‘dominant’ in the Championship
Speaking to the Leader, Coady has expressed that the Wrexham squad are looking to be ‘dominant’ in the Championship this season.
The Red Dragons proved they could compete at this level in their heart-breaking opening day defeat to Southampton and the former England international believes that can be a platform to move forward this season.
Coady stated: “It super excites me this football club, that is a massive reason why I’ve come. It’s amazing to see where this club has gone.
“I have so much respect for what the club had done since the National League to get to this point, but I think we’re at a point now where we don’t want to just enjoy being here.
“We want to improve, we want to get better, we want to mix ourselves with teams like this and maybe go higher.
“But to do that, we have to make sure we’re dominant at this level and we’ll make sure we get to that level as quick as we can.”
Wrexham fans were impressed with Coady during that opening day defeat and the 32-year-old will be a key figure for the side this season.
His experience and leadership at the heart of the back three will help youngsters Max Cleworth and Lewis Brunt to settle having made the step up to the second tier.
Wrexham should look for a fast start against West Brom
With the Red Dragons still looking for their first points of the campaign, they will need to take advantage of what will be a raucous atmosphere at the Racecourse Ground.
The home fans will still be on a high after Ollie Palmer’s late heroics against Hull City and a fast start could take West Brom by surprise.

During the last campaign, Wrexham stunned Charlton by being quick out of the traps on the day they secured promotion and a similar start could be the secret to three points over the Baggies.
High tempo, pressing from the front and getting balls into the box early will be the formula for Parkinson’s side and West Brom will then need to prove they can stand up to the challenge.
