Wrexham completed the signing of Dominic Hyam on transfer deadline day, snatching the defender away from Blackburn Rovers.
Wrexham wanted one more defender before the transfer deadline.
Conor Coady and Callum Doyle joined Wrexham in August, reuniting after previously playing together at Leicester City.
Wrexham targeted Zak Vyner, but couldn’t convince Bristol City to sell, while Jack Robinson ended up at Birmingham City.
Instead, Wrexham snapped up Dominic Hyam from Blackburn Rovers, completing a late £2.7million deal.

Dominic Hyam sends emotional message after Wrexham transfer
Hyam has penned an initial two-year deal and arrives with more than 200 Championship appearances under his belt.
The 29-year-old leaves Rovers after three years at Ewood Park, but his departure has caused anger in the Blackburn fanbase.
The likes of Callum Brittain and Lewis Travis have also moved on, with Rovers losing a number of key players.
Hyam’s exit late on deadline day really hurts for Rovers, and the defender has sent an emotional message after his departure.
Taking to Instagram, Hyam admitted that his time with Rovers has been ‘memorable’, thanking fans for their ‘absolutely incredible’ support.
Hyam believes that he has grown ‘so much’ as a player with Rovers, and cannot thank everybody enough for their help at Ewood Park.
‘A message to Rovers fans,’ said Hyam.
‘The last three years at your club have been memorable to say the least, your unwavering support for myself and my teammates have been absolutely incredible.
‘I took great pride in wearing the shirt week in, week out and never took it for granted. I’ve grown so much as a player and as a person, and will take a lot of stand-out memories and experiences with me.
‘I have made friends for life both on and off the pitch, thank you to my team mates, managers, physios, coaches, sports scientists, chefs, cleaners, the list goes on. Now it is time to try something new in my career. I wish you all nothing but the best in the future, and will see you all soon. Thank you, Dom,’ he added.
Crystal Palace star and England international Adam Wharton responded by saying ‘good luck mate’, having played together at Blackburn.
Fellow former teammates Tyrhys Dolan, Lewis Travis, John Buckley and Danny Batth joined in by wishing Hyam success at Wrexham.
Wrexham battled logistical problems to sign Dominic Hyam
Hyam finalised his move late on deadline day, but Wrexham had to fight some logistical issues to get the deal done.
As noted by The Athletic, Hyam is away on international duty with Scotland, meaning he couldn’t travel to North Wales to finalise his deal.
Medical scans had to be conducted in Scotland and then sent to Wrexham in order for the deal to be rushed through.
Wrexham managed to secure Hyam’s signature and will now hope to see him bring his Blackburn displays to the STōK Cae Ras after the international break.
