Wrexham star Eoghan O’Connell has revealed what George Dobson will bring on and off the pitch after signing for the Red Dragons this summer.
Ahead of the summer transfer window, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson wanted to bring quality in depth to his squad.
With the level of quality expected to be higher in League One, the Red Dragons boss looked to the Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to support him.
Several signings have arrived at the Racecourse with Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt, George Dobson, Callum Burton, and Sebastian Revan all committing their future in North Wales.
Dobson is a strong signing with vital League One experience with over 250 games to his name. His experience will be a massive help in progressing the current squad and easing the transition to the higher division.
The former Charlton Athletic captain is expected to settle quickly after already knowing three Wrexham players and previously working with Parkinson at Sunderland.
After his summer reunion with defender Eoghan O’Connell, the former Celtic man has revealed what the summer signing will bring to the club.

Eoghan O’Connel tells Wrexham fans what they can expect from George Dobson
Wrexham defender O’Connell has previously played with Dobson at Charlton and Walsall.
The 28-year-old will be well aware of the midfielder’s traits and abilities on and off the field.
The new summer signing has started in both pre-season fixtures against Hanley Town and Bournemouth, with the Wrexham defender sure that Dobson will be a big hit with the supporters.
Speaking to the Leader, O’Connell said: “I have played with George twice because we were both on loan at Walsall in 2017.
“We have known each other years and kept in touch, and then we played together again at Charlton.
“When he rang me and said it looked like he was coming to Wrexham, I was delighted and obviously he knows a few of the other lads like Elliot Lee and he has worked with the gaffer before at Sunderland so he knows what he is all about.
“George will be a brilliant addition both on and off the pitch. I think he is a player that the fans will grow to love just from the way he is and the way he plays on the pitch.
“It is a superb signing and to get one of the best midfielders in the league like that is great for us and we are delighted to have him.”

George Dobson could prove to be the most important summer signing for Wrexham
With Dobson reuniting with Parkinson, he will be well aware of how the Wrexham boss works. This will be a big help to the summer addition with settling into his new surroundings.
With over 250 League One games under his belt, Dobson is the perfect example of how Wrexham want to improve.
Targeting players with experience in higher divisions will help ease the challenge and transition into League One football.
Previously being named as captain at Charlton, the 26-year-old will be a leader on the pitch and help bring extra quality to Parkinson’s side.
The midfield addition will bring strong competition for places with Lee, Andy Cannon, James Jones, George Evans, and Jordan Davies all competing for a spot in the XI.
The summer recruit has excellent defensive awareness and plays with intensity and aggression. He is also relatively good on the ball and able to play a possession-based game.
His abilities on the ball are often overlooked because of his aggressive defensive duels in midfield.
With Dobson’s vast experience in League One and already having played under the manager, he could quickly become a mainstay in the team and prove to be one of the most important summer signings heading into the League One season.
