Wrexham certainly haven’t been shy in front of goal in League One this season under Phil Parkinson.
The Red Dragons have scored 31 goals in 21 games so far, with Elliot Lee leading the way regarding the hottest sharpshooter with six goals.
Some Wrexham players do need to fix up, however. Paul Mullin has looked off in front of goal this season.
Saying this, third in the table with a goal difference of +17. There can’t be many complaints when it comes to finding the back of the net this season.
However, one Wrexham loanee hasn’t been so lucky, that is until recent weeks – when he’s finally found his Midas touch in front of goal again.

Billy Waters among the goals for Halifax Town again
One Wrexham ace who sought out game time away from the Red Dragons once again this campaign is Billy Waters.
Waters made his way back to Halifax Town in the National League in the summer, a side he played for a year in the 2021-22 season, and by god, he was prolific, with 21 goals in 52 appearances.
This loan hasn’t gone exactly as he’d have expected, with Waters netting just four times in his first 18 starts.
However, he’s found his goalscoring boots once again, netting two in two games – with his most recent the opener in Halifax’s draw to Barnet on the weekend.
It’s safe to say Waters is a forgotten man now for the Red Dragons – although he will be returning back to the Stok Racecourse shortly.
Billy Waters is returning to Wrexham this January
The striker has come into form at exactly the right time, with the loan ending in January, so a decision needs to be made on his future.
With Wrexham’s abundance of forwards, the likely option is elsewhere for Waters, who joined the Red Dragons on a free in March 2023.
Either way, to be back on the scoresheet is ideal for Wrexham, as it makes it all the easier to secure a deal for him elsewhere. Halifax may even make the move permanent, with manager Chris Millington a fan of Waters.
Millington has shared this update on his situation, as per a report by the Halifax Courier: “We won’t know until January, and that’s largely going to depend on what Wrexham choose to do, what Billy chooses to do and unfortunately, thirdly, what we want to do.”
All will be revealed soon, but Waters will be delighted with his strikes in recent weeks.
