Wrexham have had a good start to the 2024/25 season but things could be going better for Phil Parkinson’s side.
When the current campaign began, it seemed pretty unlikely that Wrexham would be battling it out for promotion.
Phil Parkinson has managed to secure back-to-back promotions with the Red Dragons, taking them from the National League to League One.
However, given the money spent in the third tier and the quality of the sides dropping down from the Championship, another promotion push, on paper, looked unlikely.
However, Wrexham are currently very much in contention to, at the very least, finish 2024/25 sat in the play-off places.
The Welsh outfit are third in the division after 13 games but several of the sides around them currently have a game in hand.
Their automatic promotion hopes have taken a hit over the last few weeks but Wrexham can get them back on track if they improve in one key area.
George Dobson explains where Wrexham must improve
Parkinson matched a staggering record Wrexham record when his side drew 0-0 with Huddersfield Town at the Racecourse Ground last week.
Wrexham are now one of just a few sides across the entire EFL still yet to lose a home league match in 2024/25.
However, the club have already lost twice and drawn three when playing on the road this term, including being forced to settle for a point against Charlton Athletic last time out.
Now, as per Leader Live, George Dobson has stated that Wrexham must improve their away form this season.
He said: “We know how strong we are at home. With the crowd, we have that momentum there and we feel like we are going to pick up a positive result every time we play at home.
“We know the away form is the one we needed to improve on and the last two performances have been good.
“It should have been two wins at two really tough places to go.
“If we play like that most weeks, we will win a lot more games than we lose.”

Next Wrexham away fixtures
While it is clear Wrexham need to improve their away form if they want to win promotion this season, it will be some time before they are battling it out away from the Racecourse in the league.
Parkinson and co. face Harrogate Town in the FA Cup this weekend before a huge home clash against Mansfield Town on November 9th.
In fact, Wrexham do not have another away League One meeting until November 16th when they face Stockport County.
It is then several weeks before the Welsh side take on Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on December 7th.
