Wrexham are hoping that they can attract more quality players to the club as they continue their rise up the English football pyramid.
Wrexham signed former Premier League striker and England international Jay Rodriguez in the January window and he joins a host of top-class players to have played at the Racecourse Ground.
Ian Rush, a European Cup winner with Liverpool and one of the greatest goalscorers to play the game, failed to find the back of the net in 22 appearances for Wrexham.
Phil Parkinson now has a wealth of attacking options to choose from following the signing of Sam Smith alongside Rodriguez but the club once had a proven Premier League striker on their books, who left for arch rivals Chester City.

Jonathan Walters began his career at Wrexham before going on to play in the Premier League
Jonathan Walters joined Wrexham from Hull City in 2005 and made 43 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals in the process.
He left to join arch rivals Chester City on a free transfer in July 2006 and then saw his career really take off. After scoring nine goals for Chester, he caught the attention of Ipswich Town in the Championship and made his mark scoring 32 goals in 149 appearances for the Tractor Boys.

Walters then made a switch to the Premier League with Stoke City and spent several successful years under Tony Pulis in the top division, scoring 61 goals in 271 appearances for the Potters.
His form also earned him 54 caps for his national side Republic of Ireland and Walters scored 14 goals for his country and represented them in the 2016 European Championship.
He is now back at Stoke City having been appointed Sporting Director in April 2024, Jonathan Walters went on to have a fine career after leaving North Wales.
Phil Parkinson needs to find right striker combination for Wrexham
Fans praised the performance of Modou Faal against Port Vale but he is now one of eight strikers for Parkinson to choose from ahead of the League One promotion push.
Wrexham will play Peterborough if they beat Bolton in the EFL Trophy quarter final and the Wrexham boss needs to use the game as another chance to experiment in finding the right combination up top.

Smith looks set to be Parkinson’s first choice striker but then who joins him is very much up for grabs, Rodriguez played against Crawley but Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher are clinical finishers in League One.
With vital points at stake, the boss will want to be assured that any chances created will be gobbled up by whoever he picks to play up top.
