Wrexham’s strikers among the most clinical finishers in League One
Wrexham have scored 43 goals this season but have not looked as threatening going forward as they have done in recent years under Parkinson.
Paul Mullin has struggled for form and Ollie Palmer was linked with a January exit to Bristol Rovers. However, one recent statistic has suggested that the problem may not lie at the feet of the strikers in the squad.
The statistic shows that the likes of Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher have been amongst the most clinical finishers in League One this season.
The problem therefore, lies at the feet of the creative players who are struggling to penetrate stubborn defences and create chances for the forwards on offer.
Elliot Lee should be given a run in midfield as he has an eye for a pass and can unlock defence with his vision and excellent technique. It shows that Wrexham’s answer to their problem of scoring freely doesn’t just lay at the feet of the strikers.
Jack Marriott should start against Bolton in the EFL Trophy quarter final
The EFL Trophy quarter final not only presents Parkinson with a genuine shot at silverware and Wembley this season but also the chance to get some much-needed minutes for the likes of Marriott.
Parkinson has praised Marriott’s displays in training after returning from a lengthy injury and now is the perfect time to thrown the striker in from the start against Bolton.

The tie could also present the chance to use the likes of Jacob Mendy, who is in need of first team action and Arthur Okonkwo, still yet to find full fitness on his return from injury.
Ryan Longman was impressive against Port Vale with two assists and will surely keep his place in the side as the Red Dragons know they are two wins away from a trip to Wembley.
