Famous Australian actor Hugh Jackman has now revealed what surprised him most after attending a Wrexham game with Ryan Reynolds.
Wrexham supporters must be pinching themselves after witnessing a period of unprecedented success.
Driven by the arrivals of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2021, the Reds have just achieved back-to-back promotions and will ply their trade in League One next season.
As a result of their growing popularity across the United States, heightened by the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, the Hollywood owners are able to attract A-list celebrities.
Previously, McElhenney and Reynolds ran an advert for the documentary starring Dolly Parton while NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce have said they’d like to attend a game at the Racecourse Ground one day.
That is a feat already accomplished by famous Australian actor Hugh Jackman, who has now revealed what surprised him most following his trip to Wrexham last year.

Hugh Jackman reveals what surprised him most about Wrexham
Famous for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, Jackman met Reynolds for the first time in 2008 on the set of Wolverine’s first standalone spin-off film, in which the Wrexham co-owner made his debut as Wade Wilson/Deadpool.
From there, the pair’s friendship together has blossomed and last year, Reynolds invited him to watch the club’s first game in the Football League for 15 years.
Wrexham’s first match back in League Two would end in unsavoury fashion with a 5-3 defeat to MK Dons but Jackman was left surprised at how good the Welsh side were despite losing the game.
Speaking on the FIVE podcast with Rio Ferdinand, accompanied by Reynolds, Jackman said: “Going to a Wrexham game, which was one of the great highlights for me, with him (Ryan Reynolds), and we were walking around and it really mirrored my relationship with Ryan. Because I could see in the eyes of people going, ‘I really thought you were ****, but you are actually a good guy and on a massive level.”
Wrexham are in dreamland at the moment
Wrexham are in dreamland after achieving consecutive promotions as their club continues to rise in stature.
That is evident by their success in the transfer window this summer with the additions of Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt and George Dobson.
Whilst the Reds beat off Championship clubs for Okonkwo’s signature, Mansfield boss Nigel Clough claimed his club couldn’t compete against Wrexham in the race for Brunt, who spent last term on loan at the Stags.
McElhenney and Reynolds have outlined their ambitions of reaching the third tier. To do so, they’d have to make history by becoming the first team in the top five leagues to achieve three promotions in a row.
