Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds considered a lot of people to become Wrexham manager after they joined the club.
The current Wrexham owners purchased the club from the Supporters Trust back in February 2021.
At the time, Dean Keates was in the dugout at the Racecourse Ground but was ousted fairly quickly after failing to get the Red Dragons into a play-off place.
Phil Parkinson was then installed as Wrexham manager ahead of the 2021/22 season and has enjoyed tremendous success in Wales.
The Welsh outfit reached the play-off finals in his first season in charge before finally ending their 15-year-stint in the National League in 2022/23.
This was swiftly followed by Parkinson guiding Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’s team to a second-place finish in League Two last term, with a third successive promotion now being eyed in 2024/25.

Casey Stoney received abuse after being linked with Wrexham job
Prior to Parkinson stepping into the dugout, a number of managers were linked with Wrexham.
Mark Hudson was among the names and he is now working as a defensive coach for Sheffield United in the Championship.
Another name considered for the role was Casey Stoney, who had enjoyed much success with Manchester United’s Women’s team.
It would have been a historic appointment, with a female manager still yet to be named as head coach of any EFL side.
Unfortunately, Stoney was met with a wave of online abuse after being linked to the Red Dragons, which she opened up on at the time, as per Sky Sports News.
She said: “For the lovely people on here that are abusing me for even being linked with a job in the men’s game please do yourself a favour and lower your blood pressure.
“I am happily spending time with my family thank you if you have a daughter, sister, wife or mother you should be ashamed.”

What Casey Stoney did after being linked with Wrexham
Stoney was appointed as Manchester United Women’s first head coach in July 2018.
She left the Red Devils at the end of the 2020/21 season when links to Wrexham began to emerge.
Shortly after, the 42-year-old was appointed as manager of American outfit San Diego Wave.
Stoney spent three years at the club, winning the NWSL Shield in 2023 and NWSL Challenge Cup in 2024.
Wave then sacked Stoney on June 24th, 2024, after a poor start to the campaign. She is currently yet to take up a new job in management.
