Wrexham star, Elliot Lee has opened up about the FA Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers and how much it means to him and the players.
This week sees Wrexham travel to face Blackburn Rovers in a highly anticipated FA Cup clash away at Ewood Park.
Following the win last round against Shrewsbury Town, Phil Parkinson and his side are looking forward to a Championship tie.
Last season was an excellent example of how well the Reds can do in the cup. With a win over Coventry City and a narrow defeat in the end to Sheffield United, they made a good account of themselves.
It was an impressive showing and fans can be hopeful of potentially replicating that or doing even better this season.
Now Elliot Lee has opened up about the clash and outlined how much it means to himself and his teammates.

It has been made clear in the past week as to how much this match means to everyone involved. From the owners to the manager to the players and especially the fans.
Following on from last campaign, it is clear the impact that the FA Cup can have on changing the club’s fortunes. Last year the Reds fell to eventually promoted Sheffield United from the Championship. With a side in the same league this year, there is plenty of optimism.
Now in an interview with the BBC, Lee has opened up about the meaning of the game and has praised the Wrexham fans.
On that, he said: “It’s incredible. It’s what makes Wrexham amazing to be part of, the support we get not only here but all over the world. We have all heard about the support we are taking on Monday night.
“Honestly, as a player, it makes such a difference knowing you have that support behind you. All we want to do is work hard for the badge and repay that support.”
It is great to hear this kind of thing from the players which has been added to by Rob McElhenney and his support.
The confidence coming into this game is likely to be dialled up following on from the Sheffield United defeat last season.
Continuing on, Lee added: “It’s all about trying to put on a great show, like we did at Coventry last year. Hopefully, that can give us another good result. We have never seen a cup run as a distraction. If anything it makes us better, it gives us confidence playing these higher-league teams.”
With the Blackburn clash just over the horizon, the tension is building. Fans can be excited and look forward to a potential tie against Newcastle.
