Wrexham play out their final game of 2024 on December 29th when they take on Wigan Athletic.
Wrexham’s form has been mixed of late, dropping points against two sides who are flirting with relegation.
But the Red Dragons returned to winning ways on Boxing Days with goals from Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher seeing them earn a 2-1 win over Blackpool.
Next up for the promotion chasers is a meeting with Wigan Athletic at the Racecourse Ground on December 29th.
Wigan are currently 18 points adrift of Wrexham in the League One table but have experienced an uptick in form this month, most recently beating Rotherham United.
However, Phil Parkinson’s side should still be very clear favourites to secure the three points on Saturday thanks to one remarkable record.

Wrexham haven’t lost at the Racecourse Ground in 287 days
While their away form has been patchy, Wrexham have been simply superb when playing at the Racecourse in 2024/25.
Ahead of the weekend’s action getting underway, Parkinson’s men are one of just six teams still unbeaten at home this season across the top four tiers of English football – Arsenal, Burnley, Sunderland, Watford, and Birmingham City yet to lose on home soil as well.
It’s not just this campaign where Wrexham’s home record has been immense, however, with the Hollywood-owned side on the longest current unbeaten run in the EFL.
| Team | Games unbeaten at home |
| Wrexham | 19 |
| Watford | 17 |
| Arsenal | 16 |
| Liverpool, Burnley, Sunderland | 11 |
In fact, they have not lost at the Racecourse in any competition since Tranmere Rovers beat them 1-0 on March 16th, 2024 – a staggering 287-day streak that can be extended with a win over Wigan this weekend.

Wrexham away record is a concern
While Wrexham continue to dominate in Wales, their record away from home is not great.
In 2024/25 so far, the promotion-chasing team have dropped points or lost in cup competitions 11 times.
A staggering eight of those draws/defeats have come when away from the Racecourse, highlighting a clear contrast in form.
Should that issue persist, it could well cost Parkinson and co. in their promotion hunt.
Rivals Birmingham have only failed to win three times on the road this season while Wycombe have dropped points on four occasions when not at the Adams Park Stadium.
