Wrexham veteran James McClean has once again poked fun at Millwall after the Red Dragons notched their first win of the 2025/26 Championship season.
Wrexham beat Millwall on the road to claim their first league win, which was much needed after a difficult start to the campaign by Phil Parkinson’s side.
The Red Dragons did well to not cave to Millwall’s pressure in the first half, and soon came out fighting in the second stanza, with goals from Kieffer Moore and a late finish by Lewis O’Brien sealing the three points.
Parkinson’s side have done instrumentally well to topple Millwall at The Den, a place known to be tough for away sides given the rather hostile atmosphere.
James McClean was keen to face Millwall away this season, and after getting his wish, made sweeter with a win against his old foes, the Irishman sent a dig towards the London club.

What James McClean posted about Millwall on social media
Following Wrexham’s first Championship win of 2025/26, James McClean took to Instagram, where he posted a story that poked fun at Millwall.
The photo shows McClean walking out at The Den, where he has replaced the lion on the Millwall badge with the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz.
McClean was keen to continue in his role as a pantomime villain, and that was the case at The Den as every touch on the ball for the 35-year-old was met by a chorus of boos. With a win under his belt, however, it looks as though Wrexham and McClean had the last laugh against Millwall.
The Irishman has been subject to abuse from Millwall supporters in the past, which saw a fan found guilty in October 2023.

What Phil Parkinson must do during the international break for Wrexham
With a first win in the Championship now under Phil Parkinson’s belt, there will be far less pressure on the Red Dragons man.
He was on the verge of being questioned, particularly after the disappointing home draw against Sheffield Wednesday, but many concerns will now surely be relaxed.
Wrexham desperately needed those three points, and now it gives them plenty to build on as they go into the international break.
Now, Parkinson needs to try and build that momentum in the next two weeks of training with the players who will not be going out on international break as they prepare for a home fixture against QPR, which provides a realistic opportunity for a first home win of the 2025/26 Championship season.
