Premier League legend Morten Gamst Pedersen recently claimed he’d love to play for Wrexham and would like to meet co-owner Ryan Reynolds.
Wrexham are back into the Football League and will be playing football next season in the fourth tier of English football.
It’s been quite the ride for the North Wales club since Hollywood A-listers Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds took over the club in 2020.
The Red Dragons narrowly missed out on promotion in 2022 but we’re able to bounce back this season and finish with a record 111 points.

Attention has now turned to next season, and specifically, which names Wrexham might attract. At the back end of last season the club managed to convince former Manchester Uniter and England goalkeeper Ben Foster to come out of retirement to help their promotion push.
They have also been linked with Gareth Bale. However, it’s ex Premier League star and Blackburn legend Morten Gamst Pederson who has offered his services to the club.
Asked about the possibility of playing for Wrexham, Pedersen told Sportbible: ‘Yeah, I would love to. Why not? Of course. Maybe if you tag me in a social media post, Ryan Reynolds could read this, and we get a chance to meet.
‘I play more centrally now. I can play as a central midfield or a number 10; more like a playmaker role. I also play on the wing as well, because if you get a full-back that’s good to overlap, that’s perfect for me.’
‘I’ll use my strength on my left foot. I prefer to play further up the pitch. I was playing as a holding midfield for the last 35 minutes in my last game. It was nice to ping some balls.’

Pedersen praises ‘unbelievable’ Wrexham
‘It’s unbelievable what they [Wrexham] are doing,’ Pedersen added.
‘I think it’s so cool. Yes, they get promoted and everything, but they are also building a brand from a club that’s quite far down in the system.
‘It shows that if you get the right people and the right attitude, and everybody drags in the same direction, you can do a lot.
‘Aren’t they the second-oldest club in the UK as well? They have a great history.’
41-year-old Pedersen made 259 Premier League appearances for Blackburn Rovers in his nine-year stay at Ewood Park, scoring 34 times. He left in the summer of 2013 after the North West club got relegated to the Championship and has not played in England since.
More recently, he was released by Asane before signing with another Norwegian side, Ranheim, in the second tier, who currently sit third in the OBOS-ligaen table.
