Man vs Food legend Adam Richman was at the Wrexham vs Newcastle game, and even had time to enjoy a pint at The Turf Pub beforehand
There’s no denying Wrexham have had a little glitz and glamour about them since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club back in 2021. The acting duo have brought a fair amount of Hollywood stardust to the region since their takeover, with the likes of Paul Rudd, David Beckham, Will Ferrell, and the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia all attending Wrexham games over recent times.

And now we can add another name to the illustrious list, as Man vs Food legend Adam Richman was at Wrexham‘s recent EFL Trophy game vs Newcastle U21’s.
For those that don’t know, Richman is an American actor and TV host, who previously hosted Man vs Food on the Travel Channel and History Channel. The iconic show featured Richman visiting various cities around the US and taking part in mammoth eating challenges involving supersized food.
He was able to enjoy a pint at The Turf Pub
Richman was a spectator as the Red Dragons clinched a 1-0 victory against Newcastle’s youngster. Before the game, the TV host found time for a few beers in The Turf Pub, which is the official Welcome to Wrexham pub, located next door to the Racecourse Ground
Speaking about his experience to North Wales Live, Adam said: “It’s been absolutely great, it’s been a pleasure to meet Wayne (landlord of The Turf) as well as some of the players – especially Paul Mullin. The game was great, really interesting in the sense that it was a clash of styles with Newcastle having the youthfulness but Wrexham having the know-how.
“It was great to see Ollie Palmer play as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to coming back.”
Wayne even posted a picture with Adam on social media as the two enjoyed a local pint. Adam retweeted the photo with the caption: ‘STAR STRUCK. This man is a pure diamond.’
Apparently, Adam was able to soak up the local Welsh culture and tasted some of the area’s best fish and chip shops.
Adam said: “I went to Jones’s Chippy which I know is an institution in Wrexham. It was absolutely spectacular, genuinely fantastic food with mom’s home cooking kind of vibes.
“It’s just been great to be out and about around the town, going to Wrexham Lager as well was a privilege. The people there are fantastic.”
The Reds kicked off their EFL Trophy campaign with the perfect start
It was a great game for Richman to attend. Sam Dalby’s first goal of the season ensured Wrexham got their EFL Trophy campaign off the perfect start in front of a packed out crowd at the Racecourse.
8,000 supporters were at the ground, which is an EFL Trophy record home attendance for the club. The victory means the Red Dragons claimed maximum points to get up and running in Group B (Northern Section) of the EFL Trophy
