Three years after purchasing Wrexham, the duo have proven the doubters wrong by transforming the Welsh side into a global force.

With thousands of supporters also watching from the United States, their rise has been unparalleled and with four matches left to go this season, they can yet clinch back-to-back promotions.

McElhenney and Reynolds have become the trailblazers for famous figures in this sector with several now wanting to own a football club after watching their success.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are trailblazers

Of course, the Hollywood duo have brought success to Wrexham, but the impact it has had on a wider scale is huge.

The Welcome to Wrexham documentary has played a vital role in gaining new followers, particularly ones that aren’t interested in football, as it shows their life outside of owning a club and the influence they’ve had on the wider city.

This is why several famous figures, including Boyzone, have shown their interest in owning a football club, as they believe it’s possible to replicate that success.

Reynolds and McElhenney have been helped massively by the riches they have at their disposal, but they’ve also gained popularity for being incredible human beings and donating to several charitable causes.

Their connection to the football club is more than just about the money they’ve put in, which makes Wrexham’s journey so special.
