Wrexham travel to Lincoln City in their final outing of the League One campaign.
Wrexham fans want Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer to be given the chance to start the game in what could be the duo’s final appearances for the Red Dragons.
Phil Parkinson will want to finish the season in style however, and will be demanding focus from his Wrexham squad despite ongoing celebrations following League One promotion.
Rob McElhenney’s defiant message of not knowing the meaning of ‘consolidation’, indicates that Wrexham will be targeting more history next season but Matty James has called for one more thing this campaign.

Matty James demands one more win amid ‘surreal’ Wrexham promotion
Parkinson raved about James following the midfielder’s performance in the win over Charlton Athletic that secured promotion and the former Leicester man has really shown his experience in the run in.
The 33-year-old has been exceptional sitting in front of the back four but has called on his team mates to put in one final display before the campaign closes as per The Leader.
James stated: “There’s no point going there not to win because that’s what we’ve done for the last however many months. We’ll put the best performance we can in to try and finish on a winning note.”
It was a magnificent pass from James that set up Sam Smith to fire home the second goal in the victory over the Addicks and the veteran admits the promotion feels ‘surreal’.
James explained: “We were 2-0 up and then all of a sudden you start to think and dream, that this is it. When he made it 3-0 it meant it was all done.
“We enjoyed a good weekend but I don’t think it will sink in for a while. For me, it will be when the season finishes, where the club has been, three promotions and in the Championship is surreal really.”
Matty James experience vital for Wrexham in Championship
Parkinson will know that next season will bring tougher challenges than ever before during his reign at the Racecourse Ground and players like James will need to be relied upon for their experience.
Recruitment this summer may target one or two central midfielders with fresher legs and energy but James will still play an important role both on and off the pitch next campaign.
| Matty James Championship record | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| James | 247 | 14 | 16 |
There will be lots of transfer activity this summer in North Wales both in and out of the club, especially after Wrexham will acquire a £40m boost following promotion.
However, James will be one of the players retained and relied upon for the next chapter of the incredible journey of Wrexham AFC.
