Wrexham fans have sent a clear Paul Mullin message ahead of the Red Dragons’ upcoming League One fixture.

Wrexham face Lincoln City on Saturday, May 3, in what will be their final tie, at least for one season, in the third tier.

The Welsh outfit won promotion to the Championship with a game to spare, making their meeting with Lincoln this weekend something of a dead rubber.

With nothing on the line, it could be a chance for Paul Mullin to make a return after being left out of every matchday squad since January 28.

Mullin’s future at Wrexham has been called into question once more following the club’s promotion, including by former player, Wayne Phillips.

Wrexham fans want Paul Mullin to play vs Lincoln City

Now, ahead of the meeting on May 3, Wrexham fans have made it clear they want the 30-year-old to play some part in the clash, for what could be a potential farewell.

In a poll put out by the Rob.Ryan.Red podcast on X/Twitter, the Mullin and Ollie Palmer partnership option won a whopping 74.5 percent of the vote for who Parkinson should start up front against Lincoln.

Supporters then took to the comment section of the post to express their desire for Mullin to start.

One wrote: “If it’s going to be a final game for Mullin and Palmer. I’d love for Parky to give them a grand farewell.”

A second added: “Hopefully Mullin and Palmer, with both of them being substituted so the fans can give them a stable send-off It’s pretty obvious that neither will be here next year. Hopefully they can both find the right move.”

“Would love to see Ollie/Smith first half, Mullin/Smith second, just to see what could have been (and may still be…..??)” a third replied.

A fourth Wrexham fan wrote: “This game is not about winning, it’s about saying a big thanks to Mullin and Palmer.”

Should Wrexham keep Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer

Both players will still be under contract by the time the 2024/25 season is finished, but their futures seem uncertain.

Wrexham have been told they need six to nine signings in the 2025 summer transfer window and you would assume one of those would be a striker.

But Steven Fletcher could leave for free when his contract expires, and the Championship squad rules do mean Parkinson can register three more players and included two more on the bench next season.

That could open the door for one or both of Mullin and Palmer to start featuring again, even if it is just from the bench.
