There’s no denying what a tremendous positive Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s arrival at Wrexham was, but it’s not all been great.
Since the A-list actors took the reigns in 2021, Wrexham have managed to move from the fifth tier up to League One.
No team in history has been able to secure three promotions in a row when starting in the National League or higher.
But right now, Wrexham are well within a chance of doing so, sitting third in League One going into their meeting with Stockport County on March 22nd.
It’s not just on the field were Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s impact has been felt in the last few years.
A report earlier this month claimed Wrexham is now valued at £100m – £98m more than what Rob and Ryan paid for it over four years ago.
The Hollywood pair have brought a lot of new eyes to the club as well, but not all of the attention is welcome.

Max Cleworth says Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney add pressure to Wrexham
Whether it be out of jealousy or other reasons, Wrexham get a lot more unwanted attention than they were used to back in 2020 and before.
Rival fans, as is to be expected, are often keen to mock the club if they don’t do well given the profile of their owners.
Now, as per Leader Live, defender Max Cleworth has been discussing how Wrexham players deal with the pressure brought about after Reynolds and McElhenney’s arrival.
He said: “Ever since the owners came in there has been an added pressure on us from the outside.
“We have dealt with that, even going for titles and promotions.
“It is something that we are used to but it doesn’t just happen, you have to perform well and try and ignore the outside noise, and just focus on the job in hand.”

Max Cleworth on Wrexham promotion battle
Wrexham players have dealt with the added pressure very well and could begin 2025/26 in the Championship for the first time ever.
Birmingham City have already all but confirmed they will be promoted as League One champions.
On the Blues and Wrexham’s battle for promotion, Cleworth added: “It’s going to be nip and tuck to the end of the season.
“Obviously Birmingham have set a really high standard as everyone expected them to but to actually do it is another thing, and credit to them for that.
“There’s a good handful of teams challenging, it is going to be really close in the run-in and every team is going to lose games.
“It is just trying to find a level of consistency and being in and around it towards the back end of the season.”
