Wrexham star, Paul Mullin has opened up about the training facilities available at the club in his recently released book.
It has been a great few years for Wrexham under the ownership of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, that is for sure.
With them off the pitch, Phil Parkinson has helped improve things on the pitch as the Reds secured promotion last year. This campaign they now sit amongst the best in League Two with them currently in second place.
The progress has been clear for all to see both on and off the pitch. One thing that has been at the fore has been The Racecourse reservations including the new Kop Stand.

With that being said, a star has opened up about one aspect that could be made better for the players.
What has Paul Mullin said?
It is safe to say that Paul Mullin has been one of the most successful signings for Wrexham in recent memory. It is also clear that he loves the club as much as the fans appreciate him.
His book, ‘My Wrexham Story‘, was released recently as the striker has opened up about his time with the club amongst other things. There has been one behind-the-scenes issue that Mullin has picked up on and spoken out about.
Transcribed via Goal.com, the Welshman has said: “These days we train at Colliers Park, the National Football Development Centre of the Football Association of Wales, ten minutes down the road from the Racecourse.
“Other times we use Carden Park, a leisure complex about 15 miles away. They’re both brilliant, but the fact that everything – training pitch, gym, restaurant – isn’t in one place still isn’t ideal.”
It must be said that more elite clubs, higher up the EFL pyramid, will have huge training complexes to take advantage of. Just one example is Leicester City in the Championship whose new training ground cost over £100m.
This may not seem like a huge issue for fans looking in from the outside but to the players it obviously has an effect.
On that, he said: “It means more travelling and constant changes of clothes and gear – not a big deal in the big scheme of things but something any professional football club would be keen to iron out. When we have our own dedicated training facility – these things don’t happen overnight – it will be another big step forward.”
It is clear that the players may benefit from their own training facility but you wouldn’t know it was an issue. The form on the pitch has been superb which just goes to show the professionalism of the players.
