Ollie Palmer featured as Wrexham played out their latest pre-season friendly fixture on July 19.
Phil Parkinson’s men were looking to bounce back after a 2-1 defeat to a weak Sydney FC team last time out.
The Red Dragons’ tour of Australia and New Zealand has come to an end, and once again ended in defeat.
The home side went 1-0 down three minutes into the second half and were unable to find an equaliser.
Elliot Lee and Harry Ashfield were among the better performers as Wrexham were beaten by Wellington Phoenix.
Ollie Palmer, meanwhile, came on in the second half and was denied what could have been a huge moment for him.

Ollie Palmer frustrated during Wrexham vs Wellington Phoenix
Palmer has featured heavily for Wrexham in pre-season thanks to the likes of Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez having injury problems.
The former AFC Wimbledon player came off the bench in the second 45 against Wellington and was left frustrated.
As was a common theme in many League One games last term, Phil Parkinson’s men enjoyed a lot of dominance late on but were struggling to find an equaliser.
Palmer had the best chance to do so and found the back of the net after controlling a cross with his chest and slotting his effort past the Wellington keeper.
However, the goal was ruled out, with the Wrexham striker adjudged to have initially controlled the ball with his hand.
TV cameras panned to the striker, who was visibly frustrated at the goal being ruled out, and his ire in the closing stages of the match continued as he missed another chance.
Will Ollie Palmer play for Wrexham again
Paul Mullin has already left the club after he was axed by Parkinson in late January.
Like Mullin, Palmer didn’t play for Wrexham in the final three months of the 2024/25 season.
His future seemed to be decided before the summer window kicked off, but his unexpected minutes in pre-season may have given him a chance to regain favour ahead of the Championship campaign.
Palmer didn’t score in any of the three outings, however, and could now rue the decision that ruled his goal out against Wellington.
