Wrexham secured the signing of Sebastian Revan last summer, but the 2024-25 season didn’t quite go to plan for him.
Wrexham fans are waiting for this summer transfer window to really kick off, with Phil Parkinson keeping his powder dry so far.
Parkinson brought in eight signings last summer, starting with Arthur Okonkwo’s permanent move from Arsenal.
George Dobson, Lewis Brunt and Ollie Rathbone were other standout signings from last summer, with Callum Burton, Dan Scarr and Modou Faal taking on squad roles.
Sebastian Revan also arrived, and may unfortunately go down as Wrexham’s most disappointing signing from last summer.

Sebastian Revan returns to the Championship with Wrexham
Wrexham snapped up Revan on a permanent basis from Aston Villa, having been impressed with his displays on loan at Rotherham United.
After impressing in pre-season, Revan caught the eye against Sheffield United in an early-season EFL Cup clash.
Revan just couldn’t nail down a regular spot in Parkinson’s starting XI and didn’t make a single appearance after the 2-0 defeat at Reading in March.
The 21-year-old now returns to the Championship after Wrexham’s promotion, and he actually has fond memories of this level.
Revan suffered relegation with Rotherham in the 2023-24 campaign but was voted their Young Player of the Year after some impressive displays.
It’s certainly curious that Revan impressed in the Championship but couldn’t secure a spot in the Wrexham side.
That campaign with Rotherham should give Revan some hope and confidence that he can still make an impact for Wrexham at the next level.
Revan will need a run of games to build some confidence, but he clearly has potential as a left wing-back.
Wrexham are yet to really be linked with potential left wing-back additions, and Revan will be looking to really impress Parkinson during pre-season.
Perhaps Wrexham send Revan out on loan this summer for first-team action, but he is certainly a prospect worth keeping in mind for the years to come.
Sebastian Revan showed his versatility for Rotherham United
One interesting factor from Revan’s impressive season for Rotherham was that he played in a host of different positions.
We have mostly seen Revan on the left flank in a Wrexham shirt, occasionally switching over to the right side if needed.
During Revan’s season with Rotherham, he was deployed all over the pitch -– including as a left-sided centre-back.
That position was unfamiliar to Revan, but he relished the opportunity to operate on the left of Rotherham’s back three.
“I love defending,” said Revan. “I’m a left-back so the first port of call is to defend. The other stuff, the attacking runs, that comes later. The foundation is defending. It’s always fun to attack but you have to make sure you defend because it will cost you games if you don’t.
“I’m enjoying the new role. I’m not a natural centre-back but I’ll play wherever the gaffer puts me,” he added to the Rotherham Advertiser.
That is something for Parkinson to consider in pre-season, even with Wrexham being linked with new left-sided defenders.
Revan is still only 21 and has too much potential for Wrexham to give up on him this summer, with his previous displays in the Championship offering some hope for his future at the STōK Cae Ras.
