Paul Mullin recalls punctured lung incident
Speaking with The Athletic – Mullin recalled the scary incident that occurred at the Snapdragon Stadium.
“I was trying to breathe in but nothing was happening,” Mullin began. “I couldn’t get air into my lungs. That’s when I knew it was bad.
“In that struggle for breath, with my lips turning blue, I accepted that this could be it for me. That’s how it felt. I couldn’t breathe properly for a few minutes.
“I was thinking about my little boy, Albi. I hate being away from him and my partner Molly for too long but I had told myself it was only two weeks and that I’d be back home soon.
“It ended up being much longer, but I’m so thankful it wasn’t worse.”
A terrifying incident for Mullin, that he won’t be forgetting anytime soon. Thankfully, he went on to explain how good the medical team, hospital staff, and, of course, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds were and he’s now firmly on the road to recovery.
Speaking of which, Phil Parkinson provided an update on the prolific goalscorer.
Paul Mullin Injury Update
Speaking with The Athletic on August 14th 2023 – Wrexham gaffer Phil Parkinson revealed Paul Mullin received a “better than expected diagnosis” following today’s visit to a specialist.
“The specialist was pleased with Paul. The lung has repaired really well and the ribs are progressing well.
“There is no time scale on Mulls’ return but he is slightly ahead of the initial schedule. We are pleased, as it is a better-than-expected diagnosis.”
Great news, hopefully, we’ll see super Paul Mullin back in a Red Dragons jersey in no time.
