Paul Mullin has been answering some very interesting questions this week for Wigan Athletic.
Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club in February 2021 and set about making big changes during their first summer at the helm.
Phil Parkinson was installed as manager, replacing the departing Dean Keates on the back of the Dragons’ failing to make the National League play-offs.
They then set about improving the squad in the transfer market, bringing in some big names, including Paul Mullin.
Reynolds and McElhenney were sent a warning about a Mullin transfer from club chief Shaun Harvey at the time, but pushed ahead with the capture of League Two’s top goalscorer, who had just one promotion to the third tier.
Four summers later, Mullin has signed for Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.

Paul Mullin on his winner of Rob McElhenney vs Ryan Reynolds fight
Mullin was praised by Wigan’s manager last week when he made his first appearance for the club.
The 30-year-old was once again in action for the Latics on July 12, playing 45 minutes against Curzon Ashton.
On the same day, Wigan released an interview with the on-loan Wrexham ace, who was asked a variety of fan questions.
One of which was, ‘Who would win in a fight – Rob or Ryan?’, and the forward gave a clear response.
He said: “In real life, Rob. In the film world, probably Ryan.”
Paul Mullin featured on Wrexham mural
Reynolds, of course, is well known for his starring role in the Deadpool franchise.
But Mullin also featured in the latest instalment after being asked by the Dragons’ co-owner.
Recently, prior to the club’s meeting with Melbourne Victory, Marvel made a Wrexham mural that featured Mullin’s character ‘Welshpool’.
His suit from Deadpool is currently on display at the Racecourse Ground.
