Paul Mullin has left Wrexham after four years at the club, securing a loan move to Wigan Athletic.
The striker was suffering from injury problems throughout the 2024/25 season, as he explained in the new season of Welcome to Wrexham.
After making his return early in the campaign, the 30-year-old still had problems despite technically being fit.
Paul Mullin went on to score three League One goals in the first half of last term, but was then dropped by Phil Parkinson after a 3-2 defeat to Stevenage on January 28.
Mullin didn’t play a single league game from the remainder of the campaign and, after speculation over his future, joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.
The Liverpool-born star has now sat down with the club’s media to explain why that was the case.

Why Paul Mullin joined Wigan Athletic on loan from Wrexham
Mullin made his first Wigan appearance last weekend, starting a pre-season friendly.
The Wrexham loanee looked a bit rusty, according to manager Ryan Lowe, who was largely pleased with his display.
He’s now sat down with the Latics media to answer fan questions, one of which was why he was attracted to Wigan.
Mullin went on to name ‘many things’, including the manager and the history of the club.
He said: “Many things, obviously. The history, the success. The club obviously playing in the Premier League as well. It’s probably recent history over the grand scheme of things.
“And as I say, the manager and knowing a few of the lads, obviously being local to them, living in Liverpool. But yeah the manager’s been brilliant since the first day I met them. Many things really and hopefully, it can all be successful.”

Will Wigan sign Paul Mullin permanently
Details of Mullin’s loan move to Wigan have been revealed, with both teams paying 50 percent of his wages and the Red Dragons having a recall option in January.
There is not thought to be an option to buy at the end of 2024/25, though the Latics’ manager seemed to hint a deal could be done.
Lowe commented on Mullin’s transfer earlier this week and seemed to suggest his future is in their hands.
He said: “I said I don’t want too many loans, but when you get offered a Paul Mullin on a good deal…there definitely could be something for him down the line, again that’s in our hands as well.”
