Phil Parkinson has spoken out on Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer amid speculation around the duo’s future.

Neither Paul Mullin nor Ollier Palmer have featured in League One since January 28, 2025, during a 3-2 defeat to Stevenage.

The pair have not even been making matchday squads in the last few months, leading to increasing speculation that they could leave.

Former player Wayne Phillips suggested Mullin and Palmer won’t be at Wrexham come the 2025/26 season.

They have lost their starting berths to Jay Rodriguez and Sam Smith, with Steven Fletcher and Jack Marriott generally selected on the bench ahead of them.

David Prutton recently highlighted why Wrexham could sell Mullin in the summer window, but as things stand, it looks as though they are sticking around for the time being.

Phil Parkinson says Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer will return for pre-season

Mullin is under contract until 2027, while Palmer is tied down at the Racecourse until 2026.

Now, Phil Parkinson has commented on the plan for the duo moving forward.

As per BBC Sport, the Wrexham manager confirmed they will be back in pre-season and ‘ready to go again’.

He said: “First of all, everyone’s made a contribution. What level that has been doesn’t matter because everybody’s been together and contributed.

“Of course there’s always players who would have liked to have played more. Equally, contributions can come in many forms, so I’m delighted with everybody as a group.

“Mulls and Ollie will always be legends at this club for what they’ve done. They’re under contract next year and they’ll be back in pre-season ready to go again.”

Wrexham striker’s 2024/25 stats

At present, Wrexham have seven different natural strikers on their books.

As already mentioned, Smith and Rodriguez have been Parkinson’s main pairing in recent months, with Fletcher and Marriott taking the majority of the minutes off the bench.

There is then Mullin, Palmer, and previous record signing Modou Faal behind the quartet.
