Rob McElhenney has been discussing Wrexham’s goal after yet another promotion was secured.
Wrexham won promotion to the Championship last weekend after they beat Charlton Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers lost to Leyton Orient.
The Red Dragons became the first side ever to win back-to-back promotions when starting in the fifth tier or above.
But while reaching the Championship is an amazing achievement, it doesn’t look as though Wrexham will be stopping there.
Rob McElhenney sent a message on Thursday that suggested he is looking to go for yet another promotion in 2024/25.

Rob McElhenney on Wrexham’s goal
Meanwhile, the Always Sunny star has once again been discussing Wrexham’s goal this week.
Rob featured on the Away Days YouTube channel’s latest video, shopping for classic football shirts.
During his interview, McElhenny was asked about the club’s ceiling and quickly suggested there isn’t one.
He went on to state that people laughed at him when he said Wrexham could get to the Premier League, but that still remains the goal.
Rob said: “I think that’s the beauty of the entire experience. There is no ceiling because we’re sort of writing the story as we go along.
“Right now, the way that the system is set up is the Premier League at the very least. And we said from the very beginning well the goal is to get the Premier League and we had all these cameras around, and people would be laughing. I wasn’t even offended, I couldn’t understand why people were laughing that that’s the way the system is set up.
“So we kept doubling down and saying that’s the goal. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but that’s what we’re going for.
“So, of course, our goal is to get to the Premier League, and then it’s to win the Premier League and then, like you said, now you’re in European football, and why not go out and be the best football team in the world.”
When Wrexham could reach the Premier League
One Wrexham star could thrive in the Championship next season, said one EFL pundit recently.
But it remains to be seen how the club will fare in the second tier when they are competing against sides with much bigger budgets than the majority of League One teams.
Wrexham need to spend more on wages to compete in the second tier, especially if they do want to win promotion to the top flight.
But Ben Foster predicted when Wrexham will reach the Premier League this week, backing his former side to do so in five years.
