Phil Parkinson has now revealed what key difference Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds make when they attend Wrexham matches.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds were in attendance for Wrexham’s 3-2 win over Wycombe Wanderers at the Racecourse Ground.
It’s a contrast to their previous opening day result, where the Hollywood owners watched the Reds lose 5-3 at home to MK Dons.
Of course, Phil Parkinson’s men quickly put that result behind them by winning promotion and returning to League One for the first time in 19 years.
For their first match back in the third tier, it was nice to have both McElhenney and Reynolds make a rare appearance and Parkinson believed it spurred the players on.

Reynolds and McElhenney have an incredible bond with the Wrexham squad and supporters.
So, when they were in the crowd for the match against the Chair Boys, Parkinson believed they brought an ‘electricity’ to the place and were ‘great at relaxing everybody’.
That was much needed as their return to League One was always going to be a nerve-shredding occasion and having them there helped massively.
Speaking to The Leader, Parkinson said: “It was great to see them. I have always said that when Rob, Ryan and Humphrey Kerr are here, there is an electricity in the place.
“They are great at relaxing everybody and we always enjoy it when they come over.
“It’s difficult because it is a long way from the USA and they are both very busy but when they come over, there is a real lift around the place; not just in the dressing room but around the ground as well.”
Wrexham make a great start to League One
In the McElhenney and Reynolds era, Wrexham have only aimed for the highest level possible, with the Reds gunning for promotion every year.
Despite now plying their trade in the third tier, the aim for Parkinson and his squad is no different. There is an expectation that the Welsh outfit will at least challenge for the play-offs and they’ve got off to a solid start in that regard.
Following a dramatic win over Wycombe, Wrexham went away to promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers and secured an impressive 0-0 draw.
The visitors were helped massively by goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo in securing a result, as the 22-year-old produced a string of stunning saves to keep the hosts at bay.
Sky Sports pundit Sam Parkin even described Okonkwo as the best player on the pitch, which is a testament to how important the gloveman was.
It’s early on in the season, but if Wrexham can replicate their first two performances across a full 46-game campaign, they could be in the mix for promotion come May.
