Phil Parkinson is doing something remarkable at Wrexham this season – even Liverpool can’t beat them

Wrexham are enjoying a prolific 2024/25 campaign under manager Phil Parkinson.

The Red Dragons have secured back-to-back promotions under Phil Parkinson and a third could well be on the cards this season.

League One is by far and away the toughest test yet for the Hollywood-owned club but they have more than proven they are up to the challenge so far.

Wrexham beat Lincoln City 1-0 on Tuesday evening, leaving them sat on 34 points from their first 17 games of 2024/25.

However, promotion is by no means guaranteed in Wales this term, with the likes of Wycombe Wanderers and Birmingham City also in top form.

Wycombe hold top spot going into the next round of fixtures, sitting four points clear of Wrexham with a game in hand.

As for Birmingham, they are currently third in the division but they have accumulated 33 points and boast two games in hand on Parkinson’s men.

Phil Parkinson has Wrexham dominating EFL and Premier League

While Wrexham face a tough battle when it comes to beating the aforementioned duo to promotion, they have one advantage over both teams.

The 1-0 win over Lincoln came at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday and following the game, a remarkable stat has emerged.

Wrexham have now amassed 25 points when playing at home in the 2024/25 campaign – winning eight and and drawing one (0-0 vs Huddersfield Town).

Across the entire EFL and Premier League, no side, including top-flight leaders Liverpool, have earned more points at home this term.

Wrexham away record will concern Phil Parkinson

While Wrexham have been superb at the Racecourse this term, their fortunes on the road are pretty contrasting.

So far, the club have managed to earn just nine points when travelling away in League One this season.

The Red Dragons have dropped points in six of their away fixtures in 2024/25 already – a record that must change sooner rather than later.

Wrexham are next in action at home to Barnsley on December 3rd – a tie they are favorites to win.

However, they then have two away fixtures against Burton Albion and Bristol Rovers coming up and Parkinson will be desperate for his side to improve in those matches.
