Wrexham continued their quest for League One promotion with a late Steven Fletcher strike sealing a 1-0 victory over Peterborough United.
The victory has left Wrexham just two points off leaders Birmingham City and level on points with Wycombe Wanderers in the League One table.
The win was a great way to bounce back from Wrexham’s tough defeat at Barnsley and Steven Fletcher notched yet another important late goal with his fifth of the season.
Phil Parkinson could sense a victory over Peterborough and it seems that Wrexham have continued their fine form from the end of the previous calendar year. A run that has incidentally earned some recognition for their manager.

Phil Parkinson has been nominated for the December League One Manager of the Month award following a superb run in both the league and the EFL Trophy.
It is the third time this season that Parkinson has been nominated for the award having remained unbeaten across the month with four wins and two draws.
Perhaps a stand-out result was a 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra in the EFL Trophy despite a Wrexham injury crisis before and during the game.
Wrexham began the month with back-to-back 1-0 wins over Barnsley and Burton before finishing December with 2-1 victories over Wigan and Blackpool.
Steven Fletcher to thank for Wrexham points with late winners
A feature of December that has also crept into January is the good habit of Fletcher providing late winners, which definitely contributed to Parkinson’s nomination for League One’s best manager in the festive season.
Having recently scored in the 87th minute at home to Peterborough, the Scottish international also repeated the feat during Parkinson’s golden month of December.
Fletcher provided an 88th-minute penalty to see off Blackpool at the Racecourse Ground followed by a 91st-minute header against Wigan to seal three points on both occasions.
Parkinson will be hoping to continue the club’s good run of form when they travel to Shrewsbury Town next in the league, the winner of the Manager of the Month award is announced before that game.
