Wrexham took on Peterborough United in a League One clash on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Dragons headed into the game having enjoyed a fantastic start to life in League One.
Phil Parkinson watched his side pick up a huge 3-2 win over Wycombe Wanderers on the opening weekend of the campaign.
This was followed by a 0-0 draw away to a promotion-chasing Bolton Wanderers on August 19th.
More recently, Wrexham hammered Reading 3-0 at the Racecourse Ground, no doubt filling them with confidence ahead of Saturday’s game.
The Welsh outfit started the day fifth in the League One table and could have ended Saturday in top spot with a win.
And it was the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds-owned club who took the lead in Cambridgeshire after 29 minutes.
Elliott Lee played the ball to George Dobson who then laid it off in the area for Jack Marriott. The striker’s shot deflected into the net off an opposition defender.
Max Cleworth then made it 2-0 shortly before the break, heading home a Thomas O’Connor delivery.

Jack Marriott has given Phil Parkison a selection headache after Peterborough United
The game ended 2-0 to the visitors, with the performance of the aforementioned Marriott now set to give Parkinson a welcome selection headache.
Wrexham started the summer in desperate need of a new striker as Paul Mullin was out injured.
However, in Mullin’s absence, Marriott has stepped up and now scored two goals in four league games this season – already beating his tally one of in 17 last term.
Mullin is also back from injury and should be fully fit for the club’s next game after coming off the bench in Wrexham’s latest two fixtures.
As well as the in-form Marriott and a returning Mullin, Parkinson must now try and fit Deadline Day addition Modou Faal into his forward line.
It is a problem the Wrexham boss will have to deal with, but one he is no doubt glad to have.

Can Wrexham win promotion to the Championship
Wrexham have secured back-to-back promotions under Parkinson but the step up to League One was expected to prove much bigger than the one to League Two.
The level of the players is much higher, while those sides coming down from the Championship are able to spend big money.
We saw this on Deadline Day when Birmingham City broke the League One transfer record to sign Jay Stansfield from Fulham in a deal worth up to £20m.
In comparison, Wrexham’s record transfer is the £590,000 they paid out for Faal on Friday.
Despite the clear financial disparity between them and some of the teams in the third division though, Parkinson’s side are getting things done on the pitch.
They are undefeated after four games despite playing one of the favourites, and are joint top of the division.
It might be very early in the campaign, but Wrexham’s recent form suggests they could well be in the promotion mix come May.
