It has been confirmed by Phil Parkinson that any injury concerns with Andy Cannon and Steven Fletcher are less concerning than first thought.
Over the last few months, Wrexham have suffered multiple injuries which have weakened the squad overall.
With that being said, Phil Parkinson’s side has still had a very positive start to the season which sees them sit in third place.
Against Mansfield Town, the Reds secured their place in the second round of the FA Cup thanks to Sam Dalby and Paul Mullin.
The win didn’t come without a price however as Andy Cannon was forced off with an injury on 71 minutes.
At the beginning of the month, it was confirmed that Steven Fletcher was set for an operation on a recurring issue.
Phil Parkinson on Andy Cannon
Fans had been left concerned with Cannon’s injury given that he had already missed several games this season.
Now it seems that the concerns may not be so worrying given the recent comments from Parkinson on Leader Live.
First speaking about Cannon, the Reds boss said: “It’s not serious so we have had some good news with Andy.
“He got a whack on the nerve on his leg, his whole leg went numb and obviously he was worried about it. There is an impact injury there but it is nowhere near as bad as we first feared.”

Fans will be happy to hear this news given his form over the course of the season so far.
What has been said about Steven Fletcher?
Fletcher has also missing. As a result, the depth in the striker role was decreased, seeing Billy Waters getting minutes against Port Vale.
Since signing in the summer, Fletcher has only started once but has come off the bench nine times and scored twice.
Discussing the Scotsman’s concerns, Parkinson said: “Steven’s operation went well.
“He is back in the building with the lads and we will do everything we can with him but when you have had an operation, there is a certain healing process which has to take place.”
Obviously, there is no quick route back from an injury and an operation like this and it is unlikely he will feature any time soon.
Parkinson is keeping a positive mindset: “The aim is when you have got injuries, you have got to keep ticking along and keep getting results, and that is what we intend to do.”
It has still been an excellent start to the season and even with all these injuries, the Reds have done well. Sitting in third, a position that fans could have only dreamed of.
