Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has opened up about what he said to the players after his side’s 3-0 win over Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.
It was a job well done for Wrexham this weekend as they were able to secure a place in the third round of the FA Cup proper.
Last season was a memorable one, as Phil Parkinson’s side took scalps on their way to an unfortunate defeat to Sheffield United.
This weekend saw Yeovil Town travel to The Racecourse with a tie against Shrewsbury Town awaiting the winner.
Thanks to goals from Ollie Palmer, Andy Cannon and Sam Dalby, the Reds were able to secure a comfortable victory.

Following a win already against Mansfield Town in the FA Cup, Wrexham are on their way to yet another run in the cup.
What has Phil Parkinson said?
Last season, the win over Coventry City and the draw with Sheffield United were hugely memorable moments. These were major parts of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ series.
Discussing Wrexham’s cup run last year with ITV, Parkinson believed there was more to it than just the memorable wins.
On that, he said: “I said to the lads before the game that everyone remembers Coventry and Sheffield United last year, but we had to work hard to get to that stage.
“Blyth Spartans away, windy, horrible away game and we had to bring them back here and win the replay. And other games we had to really dig deep.”
Last season’s run was inspirational and arguably played its part in sending the club on its way to securing promotion. It must be said that the Reds are in the hunt for promotion once again and, as a result, the cup could have a similar effect this time around.
Discussing the win over Yeovil and the progression into the next round, Parkinson added: “Today was one of those games where we get a great draw. Shrewsbury away, because that is a local derby and everyone is excited about that. We’ve got to earn the right to get there, so I’m pleased we have got through today.
“We can put the FA Cup on the back burner, concentrate on the league and go to Shrewsbury in good spirit.”
There is plenty of time between the next FA Cup fixture, which gives Wrexham the opportunity to focus on League Two action. The Reds will want to do well in both competitions moving forward; such is the ambition at The Racecourse.
