Wrexham could be without one of their key players for the Championship clash against Birmingham City on Friday evening.
Wrexham welcome rivals Birmingham City to the Racecourse on Friday night, for the first Championship meeting between last season’s League One winners.
Blues won the title whilst Wrexham finished in 2nd. Both teams have since invested heavily in the summer transfer window, too, though Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac invested by far the most.
Whilst Birmingham City spent around £12million on new players this summer, Wrexham spent £33million in the summer transfer window.
But it’s Blues who sit slightly ahead in the Championship table right now. Chris Davies’ side sit in 11th place of the table right now compared to Phil Parkinson’s side in 15th.

Phil Parkinson reveals Josh Windass injury scare ahead of Wrexham vs Birmingham City
Speaking to the club ahead of Friday’s game, Parkinson revealed that striker Josh Windass was carrying a knock in the last game, where Wrexham drew 1-1 away at Leicester City. Windass started the game but came off after an hour.
Parkinson said the 31-year-old will be assessed ahead of the game against Birmingham City: “Josh had a whack on the ankle against Derby, which had quite a lot of swelling on it. We’re just assessing tomorrow [Friday].
“We’ve got other options but he, in fairness to him, he put himself right up there to play on Tuesday night and that’s great for us to see because there’s going to be knocks when the games come as thick and fast as they have done, and sometimes players have got to get on with it.”

Forgotten Wrexham star could return to the side vs Birmingham City
Like Parkinson says, he has some really strong options in attack, even should Windass be injured and rested for the game against Birmingham City.
Kieffer Moore no doubt starts and Nathan Broadhead could be in line to start against Birmingham City, too. Parkinson hailed Broadhead’s performance off the bench against Leicester City where he scored the equalising goal.
And if Windass is left out of the squad entirely then Ryan Hardie could return to the side. The Scot has been left out of the last two matchday squads.
Whoever starts though, expect a fierce encounter between Wrexham and Birmingham City with both teams surely desperate to prove who has the brighter aspirations and who bolstered better over the summer transfer window.
