Wrexham fans are on the edge of their seats this summer in anticipation over new recruits.
Wrexham confirmed the signing of Ryan Hardie as Phil Parkinson secured a long-term target as the first piece of business at the Racecourse Ground.
Ryan Teague is in talks with Wrexham as the Australian midfielder could become the club’s first major overseas signing. However, the Red Dragons face competition from rival Championship clubs.
Central defence is an area that Wrexham are looking to bolster in order to provide Max Cleworth and Lewis Brunt some experience to help guide them. One transfer target could play until he is 40 according to a former teammate.

Mario Lemina believes Craig Dawson could play until he is 40
Wrexham have offered a contract to Craig Dawson following the defender’s release from Premier League side Wolves.
As per the Express and Star, Dawson’s former teammate Mario Lemina stated back in 2024 that he believed the experienced defender could play until he was 40 given the incredible shape and form he was showing.

Lemina stated: “Daws is an experienced player and he knows what he has to do, we need this kind of experience in our team because he really talks to us and makes our shape like what the gaffer wants. We talk together all the time during the game and he’s really impressive.
“For me, age is nothing. If you stay in shape you can play until you’re 40 and at the moment he’s unbelievable.”
What Gary O’Neill thought of Craig Dawson amid Wrexham links
Lemina was not the only figure at Wolves impressed by Dawson as former manager Gary O’Neill backed Dawson to be an integral part of his side during last pre-season.
As per the Express and Star, O’Neill laid out his plans to Dawson and how important he was to the team before his season was cut short with injury.
O’Neill stated: “I don’t know whether he believed me when I told him in pre-season that he would be hugely important and he’d have a shirt at some point.

“He’s going to be massive for us. He knows the league, he’s good with the ball and he’s an expert at defending the goal.”
A player such as Dawson would fit perfectly at the heart of Wrexham’s back three and with his ability both on the ground and in the air, the Red Dragons would have an excellent blend of youth and experience in defence.
