Wrexham snapped up Liberato Cacace this summer, landing the New Zealand International from Empoli.
Wrexham have now made nine signings this summer to bolster Phil Parkinson’s squad for Championship action.
Parkinson has now recruited from outside of the United Kingdom and Ireland for the first time as Wrexham boss, snapping up Liberato Cacace.
Wrexham signed Cacace from Empoli earlier this summer, breaking the club’s transfer record in the process.
That record has been broken multiple times since Cacace’s arrival, but the left wing-back still represents a major addition for Wrexham.
Cacace started in Wrexham’s 2-1 defeat at Southampton, and is set to play a key role under Parkinson this season.

Chris Wood shares Liberato Cacace prediction
Cacace missed out against West Bromwich Albion over the weekend, though, picking up a hamstring problem.
New Zealand have still called up Cacace for their two games against Australia in September, which may leave Parkinson a little nervous.
Wrexham certainly won’t want to see Cacace’s injury aggravated on international duty and will monitor him closely in the coming weeks.
Cacace is one of New Zealand’s key players, and his potential has now been praised by Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood.
Wood has been the poster boy of New Zealand football for years now, establishing himself as a quality Premier League striker along the way.
Speaking on the New Zealand Football official website in recent days, Wood admitted that he thought Cacace was ‘fantastic’ on his competitive Wrexham debut against Southampton.
Wood added that he thinks Wrexham is a ‘great move’ for Cacace, adding a prediction that he will play in the Premier League ‘sooner rather than later’.
“Libby was fantastic on his debut for Wrexham,” said Wood.
“I watched it, and I think that’s a great move for him. It’s a foot inside the English door ready to take the progression into the Premier League when he gets the chance, because I believe he will get the chance sooner rather than later,” he added.
Wrexham’s Premier League dream means Cacace could fulfil that prediction during his time at the STōK Cae Ras, and he will certainly play a big role in any promotion to the top flight in the coming years.
Liberato Cacace set for Welsh derby battle against New Zealand teammate
Cacace is not the only New Zealand international who will now call Wales home.
Welsh rivals Swansea City announced the signing of midfielder Marko Stamenic from Wood’s Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
Cacace and Stamenic are international teammates with New Zealand and have been tabbed as their next great stars at just 24 and 23, respectively.
Stamenic has penned a four-year deal with Swansea and is now in line to play against Cacace, all while aiming to play at the World Cup alongside the Wrexham star next summer.
Wrexham travel to face Swansea on 19 December before welcoming Alan Sheehan’s side to the STōK Cae Ras on 14 March 2026, with Cacace and Stamenic set to go from friends to enemies in those games.
