Rob McElhenney and his wife Kaitlin Olson recently laughed off ridiculous claims that the Wrexham co-owner cheated on her in Wales.

Wrexham may be co-owned by a couple of comedic actors, but they’re anything but a joke. The North Wales club finished atop the National League last season meaning they will be playing in the fourth tier of English football next campaign.

It marks the end of a fifteen-year hiatus from the English Football League for the Red Dragons, whose fortunes have transformed under the ownership of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.

Gossip site claims Rob cheated on his wife in Wales

McElhenney and Reynolds must be some of the funniest men in football, and throughout their time at Wrexham have taken part in a number of hilarious social media skits.

Funny clearly runs in McElhenney’s family, as he’s married to It’s Always Sunny co-star Kaitlin Olson.

Recently, the pair laughed off a bizarre cheating rumor that first appeared on Perez Hilton’s website. The article claimed Rob allegedly cheated on Kaitlin.

The post on the Perez Hilton website said: “We have no idea if there’s any validity to this, but a new rumour has sprung up online about everyone’s favourite couple from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Or second favorite maybe? We don’t know.

“Anyway, we’re talking about Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson, aka Mac and Dee. Word has it, they may be in the middle of a tense separation — supposedly because he cheated!”

The post then goes on to state that the alleged affair took place in Wales.

Rob McElhenney and his wife laugh off cheating rumor with brilliant ‘Whales’ joke

However, Rob and Kaitlin have laughed off the ridiculous claims in an amusing and pun-filled exchange on social media.

Katilin shared the story on Twitter with the caption: “It was me who had the affair, but it was not with someone from Wales. It was with a whale.

“I’ve always loved whales. They’re the bosses of the ocean and I’m attracted to power. We ask for privacy as we navigate this difficult time.”

She also included a whale emoji.

Rob then got in on the joke, tweeting: “Sad to admit that the rumor is true. However some of the details are…incorrect.”

It appears the cheating story is indeed nonsense, as the couple have been married for nearly 15 years and have two children.

Kailtin is often at Wrexham games and was spotted at The Racehorse Ground to watch their 3-0 win over Yeovil at the back end of last season. She was there with Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day, who play Dennis and Charlie on It’s Always Sunny.

Afterwards, the castmates even flocked to the nearby Turf Hotel to help serves pints to fans.

Couple goals.
