Wrexham can truly begin preparing for life in the Championship after ending the League One season with a win at Lincoln City.

Wrexham beat Charlton Athletic 3-0 to seal promotion to the Championship but still had one more game to go.

Phil Parkinson took his side to Sincil Bank and saw Wrexham beat Lincoln City 2-0 in professional fashion.

It would have been very easy for Wrexham players to hit the beach mentally after the promotion celebrations, but goals from Elliot Lee and Ryan Longman secured the win.

Wrexham players will now head to Las Vegas for more celebrations, with Parkinson no doubt looking towards next season.

Reports suggest Wrexham could splash the cash this summer and Parkinson may have some potential signings in mind already.

Ryan Longman on key Wrexham attribute

Wrexham have secured three straight promotions and it’s more than reasonable for fans to dream about four in a row.

Three promotions in a row would have sounded unlikely, but Wrexham made it happen – and another promotion will be the dream.

Rob McElhenney believes Wrexham’s rise is not done yet and Ben Foster predicts Premier League football for Wrexham within five years.

The first season of Championship football is bound to bring some ups and downs, but Ryan Longman believes Wrexham already have one key quality which will certainly help next season.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Longman noted that Wrexham have the grit and determination to stay in games.

Wrexham lost eight games in League One, but never by more than two goals – and even then, Wrexham were only beaten by two goals on two occasions.

Longman has Championship experience under his belt, and feels that resilience is exactly what a team needs at the next level.

Longman added that Wrexham intend to embrace the challenge of Championship action, believing that the second tier is ‘brilliant’.

“We keep in games, that’s what you need to do in the Championship. If you keep in the game, anyone can go and win it,” said Longman.

“We’re just going to embrace that challenge and enjoy it. We’ve just got to prepare ourselves in the off-season, recover, spend time with the families and have a really good pre-season and get back to it. It’ll be great to be playing back in the Championship, I know how tough it is. It’s just going to be exciting in those stadiums, the next level is just brilliant,” he added.

Ryan Longman record in the Championship

A number of Wrexham players will be playing Championship football for the first time.

Arthur Okonkwo, Max Cleworth, Eoghan O’Connell, Lewis Brunt and Ryan Barnett spring to mind, with those players heading into the unknown.

Longman played for Hull City and Millwall in the Championship, racking up 116 appearances in the second tier.

Longman has bagged 10 goals and eight assists in those games, totalling 6,163 minutes of Championship action.

Having ended the season as a key man in Parkinson’s starting XI, Longman will be looking to continue as a vital Wrexham player and bring his Championship experience to the squad next season.
