Wrexham have just achieved something for the first time in over two decades and owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds deserve to be showered with praise.
Itβs been a fairytale couple of years for Wrexham, who have been dragged from the doldrums of the National League and into League One.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are, of course, the key cogs behind their success, with the Hollywood owners being rewarded for their ambition.
Last season, Reynolds and McElhenney helped Wrexham achieve history after pulling off consecutive promotions, reaching the third tier for the first time in 19 years.
Many players contributed to their second-place finish but it was predominantly Paul Mullin and Elliot Lee who carried the weight of expectation in an attacking sense. The pair produced 42 goals between them in all competitions and have since been named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year.

Elliot Lee and Paul Mullin named in League Two Team of the Year
Lee and Mullin were recognised for their dominance in the fourth tier by being listed in this team featuring three Stockport County players, who lifted the title ahead of Wrexham.

For Wrexham, seeing two of their players listed for this award is a rarity. The Reds spent 15 years in the National League between 2008 and 2023, returning to the Football League last year.
Therefore, itβs been a remarkable 21 years since any of their players featured, so itβs all the more reason to credit McElhenney and Reynolds.
Carlos Edwards and Andy Morrell last Wrexham players to feature in Team of the Year
Club legend Carlos Edwards and icon Andy Morrell were the last two players to feature in a Team of the Year for Wrexham. This was following the 2002/03 campaign, in which the Welsh side won promotion to the third tier.
Edwards was an incredible player for Wrexham, who tallied 139 appearances for the club, including 17 goals and five assists.
Whilst the former Trinidad & Tobago international was an exciting winger, Morrell was a centre-forward. The veteran netted 44 goals in 196 appearances and still regularly posts about the club now.
In a period where Wrexham continue to make history and break new boundaries, itβs underestimated how great it is to see players feature in the Team of the Year after 21 years.
